CREATOR’S CHEATSHEET

Stretch Bracelet Edition

Ready to build a bracelet stack? Whether you’re making these for yourself or a matching set for the besties, here is your cheat sheet. Let’s go!

Must Have Supplies

The right supplies are the secret to a stack that never snaps.

  • The Beads: Grab your favorites! Mix letter beads to spell out names or phrases with heishi discs, pony beads, and crystals.
  • The Magic Cord: Use .8mm stretch elastic. It’s the best way to keep your jewelry from being flimsy.
  • The Secret Hack: A tiny drop of jewelry glue. Don't use super glue, it makes the cord snap!

⭐Pro Tip: Add a paperclip to the end of your cord so your beads don't fly everywhere while you’re working.

Get the Right Fit

A perfect measurement means your bracelet drapes just right.

  • The String Trick: Wrap a string around your wrist to see how big it is.
  • The Math: Add 1/2 inch to that size so it actually drapes and doesn't squeeze your arm.
  • The Layout: Line your beads up next to your string measurement to make sure your design is long enough before you start stringing!

The Wake-Up Call

One quick stretch now saves you from a saggy bracelet later.

Wait! Before you string a single bead, give your cord 3 firm, friendly tugs. This "wakes up" the elastic so it stays snappy and never gets that weird loose look.

Design Your Vibe

Planning your pattern is where the real magic happens.

  • Spell It Out: If you're using letter beads, put them in the center first so your message stays front and center on your wrist.
  • The Hider: Pick one bead with a big hole (like a pony bead) to be the "home" for your knot later.
  • The Zone: Lay everything out on a sheet of felt so the beads don't roll away while you're designing.

The Secret Knot

The right knot keeps your design secure.

  • Double Loop: Tie a regular knot, but loop the cord twice (not once!) before pulling it tight..
  • The Tug: Pull it firm until the beads are snug.
  • The Finish: Add a dot of glue, let it dry, then snip the excess string. Slide your "Hider" bead over the knot. Boom, professional finish.

The #1 Rule

Treat your jewelry with love so it stays in your rotation forever.

  • Roll, Don’t Pull: Seriously. Always roll your bracelet over your hand. Never stretch it wide. That’s how you keep it from snapping.
  • Gift It: Now that you're a pro, you can make these for everyone! There’s nothing better than a handmade gift for someone special.
